bio:
Dr. Rek began producing music in 1994. In 1996 he began radio DJing, which he continued throughout college until 2002. In 2002 he began shooting footage for his Circuit Bending documentary project. From 2002 to 2006 Dr. Rek began to focus on the sounds, circuits, and videos for his own electronic explorations. During 2002 – 2006 Dr. Rek could be found projecting video at, performing at, DJing at, and/or helping organizing the events of Infinite Complexity and other experimental electronic music and art underground events in LA nearly every weekend.

In 2006 he moved to Omura, in Nagasaki prefecture Japan, and started two new projects, Poopie Kewpie and Denki Poo. In the summer of 2008 he moved to Fukuoka prefecture and joined the monthly event yurUnity at Water Lounge, and founded the ATHED party that winter. Recently he started a new acid techno unit with hard off, called yaOya. In mid 2010 he relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he continues to organize, perform and DJ throughout many of the events he has helped organize there (Gourmet, Monticello, Dodo Bus)
